·        Senior High. New school, new classmates, new environment, and new encounter. “Write your name in a sheet of paper and pass it forward”. My heart fluttered as if my anxiety level went 999999. When it was my turn to introduce myself in front of my classmates, the first thing that came up to my mind was ‘ana ngata makunada kenyak?’. Thoughts of rejection and judgement came running through my mind but then the next thing happened was not I anticipated. There I saw them smiling at me like as if I’ve known them for so long, their smile gave me confidence to speak in front and face everybody. I got interested in every personality of my classmates because I’m excited to get to know every single one of them.

·        Pressured, but in a good way. For me, pressure is not really forcing a person to do something but it is where you encourage yourself to push through or to extend your limitations. I am pressured and at the same time stressed and that’s where I can discover my skills and abilities by being challenged in having a lot of school works and requirements. There are times that we have a group activity, and that’s when I am being challenged because of new encounters, “hala, kasanu detuyen? jak met ammo” funny how I ask myself that but in the end , we have finished that group work before the deadline. I sometimes ask myself, how did I even finish something that I don’t know about? We may have a lot of works to do but that’s what makes FEMSHS interesting, we are being trained to face our future, we are to strengthen ourselves and reach success.

·        Activities? Ha! I can’t name it all. It was a very hot and sunny day during the school intramurals but that was not a hindrance from enjoying it. There was a lot of cheering, chanting, and shouting, so loud but it’s pleasing to the ears. Boodle fight? In the school? Uh-uh, first time ko deta! All were busy preparing their ‘katutubong pagkain’ with pictures here, pictures there, 123 here, 123 there. Sack race, kadang-kadang, tag of war, basag palayok. Na enjoy uray napilitan lang gayam. During the kadang-kadang game, some participants were unbalanced causing them to get knocked-down over and over again, and the crowd were laughing, cheering them to encourage in continuing the game. Ahh, I can remember how the laughter echoed in my ears and all I can say is “wow” this is the best! I’m very interested especially in the activities because it is where I can find new friends and get close to them, also, I can learn sportsmanship were me and other participants strategize in order to win the game.

·        There were even times when I meet with my classmates during the weekends to practice for our speech choir. Nagladaw da met nga umay, 8:00 call time ket 9 met langen, awan da pay. But good thing, nu sino maladaw, isut agpameryenda, so it’s a snacks for free practice! We may feel tired and hot headed during some practices, I just feel happy that in the end, unity is there. It’s not only the memories that we build, but also the bond that we keep. During my junior high, I’ve never experienced meeting my classmates to work on a group project during weekends, we were only meeting to go to the movies or food tripping but now? Requirements first, ag enjoy tay after. I just find it very interesting that the school works keeps us busy and not nonsense things like going to computers until midnight or even just laying on your bed doing nothing.

·        Teachers? Role Models. I have a churchmate who was a former student of FEMSHS and she recommended me to study there, I asked ‘mayat met dagijay memestra?’, she said yes. And yes, It is proven. I saw, I heard, and I agree. I can see how professional the teachers are, and I can say that they have a good and effective way of teaching. What I like the most about them is that they push their students beyond their limitations in order to find out the things that they are good at, they want us to determine the skills and abilities in order to develop them. Our principal, Mrs. Carmencita Lorenzo, the teachers, staffs, and we the students contribute in order to make our prestigious school interesting to aim, reach, and achieve success!

I may be new to the environment, I can proudly say that FEMSHS gives me comfort. The people around helps me to adjust in an easier way so that I can connect with people without any fear. The more I experience, the more interesting FEMSHS can be.
